With the exciting arrival of our new Autumn & Winter 2021 Collection comes our newly regraded XL and 2X sizes, along with the addition of our new 3X size. Our classic Model No.11 dress that we are known for should fit as well on a XL, 2X or 3X body as it does our XS-L size customers (please note, our XS-L sizes have NOT changed.) To get this result, we hired expert help. Enter Betsy. A wealth of pattern grading knowledge and over 20 years experience working with brands on their patterns and an all around boss lady, Betsy has her own pattern business specializing in developing patterns and grading, with extensive knowledge and experience working with larger sized bodies.
Betsy advised me that ideally, you want one person who will fit your sizing chart perfectly to test the samples, however, we wanted multiple models to try on our new XL, 2X and 3X sizes as the goal is to fit a good range of bodies. We reviewed pics and feedback, had in person fit testings and looked at all the changes we could make to improve the dress and have it work for a variety of body types. We then made adjustments as needed and sample made to test again, and again, to see how the fit worked. SUCCESS! We had a formula and were happy with how the dress fit and looked, and most importantly, how it felt as described by our fit testers. This process was then recreated for each unique pattern. Grading, sample making, fit testing and reworking until each one was perfect.
We are so excited to be presenting these improvements to you and will be launching the newly regraded sizes for XL, 2X and 3X with the arrival of our Autumn & Winter 2021 line in September of this year! Here's a look at our new size chart:
